09.26.10; Dodgers vs. Diamondbacks

Looking back at my card, I did not record Russ Mitchell's out in the 5th inning as the final out for the Dodgers.

Chad Billingsley pitched a gem of a game at Chase Field. He recorded 13 strikeouts, which ties a career high. He even got a base hit. Sadly, the bullpen let the team down. Belisario was called in to get a single out in the 8th, which he did. Sherrill and Broxton then came in and gave up 3 runs on six hits, including two home runs. Brutal. The Dodgers now fall to 75-81.

The Dodgers lost by a score of 5 to 4 and lost the three game series with the D'backs, 2 games to 1.

What happened to Broxton? He got the save in the All Star Game, then disintegrated during the second half of the season. I wonder if we will see either Sherrill or Broxton next season. At least Kuo has done well in relief, but I worry about his durability. Hasn't he had at least one Tommy John surgery? I worry that it's only a matter of time before his arm explodes.
